Good communication is a key aspect of effective leadership. Effective leaders must communicate a variety of different issues both internally to their employees and externally to their clients and the public. To better explore this concept I looked at the organization Omnicron Group Inc. It is a "strategic holding company" that manages a variety of companies offering both traditional media advertising and more creative marketing services. Omnicron Group has both a Chairman and a CEO because they feel the positions are distinct and require the full attention of the individual occupying that role. John D. Wren the President and CEO and Bruce Crawford the Chairman share in the top leadership of this global company.
Reviewing the 10-K as well as the investor relations reports is an easy way to see company results. In their 10-K the leadership of Omnicron group acknowledges several risks they face including "The success of our acquiring and retaining clients depends on our ability to avoid and manage conflicts of interest arising out of other client relationships and retention of key personnel"(2). Omnicron's leaders recognize that in such a diverse company employee retention is an important facet to maintaining client relations and retaining accounts. There were no unresolved employee comments in the 10-K which would seem to indicate that there was no unfinished business. Omnicron Group's revenue, operating profit, and net income have all been steadily increasing over the past five years illustrating a stable trend of company growth and improvement.
Mr. Crawford and Mr. Wren continue to lead the company to continue to diversify and grow. The organizational chart of the Omnicron group accounts for the diverse skill sets of their many employees and breaks down sectors in order to delegate the vast amount of responsibility such a multifaceted company has. There are thirteen Omnicron Group management officers each with their own specific area of expertise and oversight. As a whole the Omnicron Group appears to be successful at communicating their mission and their results both internally and externally.
